Description

I can't seem to see past these emotions and figure out what's right...

Story time!
An incident took place a few months back that inspired this drawing. I was making tea for my parents, and when I was pouring it into two cups, the steam from the tea fogged up my glasses and for a few seconds, I couldn't see anything. For some reason, this reminded me of a few people I know who are fair and just at all times, but when they become angry, their judgement is clouded. It also reminded me of myself a little; jealousy tends to cloud my judgement sometimes.

I believe all of us are just and fair humans. It's just that sometimes, some emotions (like those on the cup - anger, sadness, jealousy etc) prevent us from seeing the truth, or prevent us from judging or even thinking of something with a calm, fair mind.
For instance, someone might be so angry or jealous that they do or say something that they don't mean; someone might be so worried that they cannot pull themselves together and as such, cause further harm to themselves and/or others around them. In such cases, whatever we're seeing or judging becomes warped, whatever situation we're in suddenly becomes "unmanageable." In the absence of these emotions however, we can think clearly and make all the right decisions.

Say for example, your friend falls down and hurts his/her knee. A person consumed by worry may not be able to help their friend at all because they're so worried that they can't think straight. On the other hand, someone who takes stock of the situation with a calm mind will be able to give first aid as well as reassure their friend that everything is going to be alright. In fact, the injured friend might be reassured and might become calmer just by seeing that their friend isn't panicking.

It isn't easy to prevent these emotions from affecting our judgement or the way we work, but I believe we all can try, because things can get a lot messier should we allow them to "blind" us, especially when we can't afford to have foggy vision. :D

So true... It's good to see a picture with an inspiring message. Amazing job, and I love the stylized effects you put into it! :huggle:
